At its center is the “Spider” escapement, designed by Phil Abernethy: a dual-wheel reinterpretation of John Harrison’s historic Grasshopper geometry, developed not merely as a technical variation, but as an exposed mechanical and kinetic composition.

The slow cadence of the pendulum, the alternating action of the escapement, and the refined geometry of the train create a work that is both timekeeper and mechanical sculpture.
